krissbetar, you must try to use the reference elements (view/barre of the instruments/reference elements) there, find the basic commands such as lines and plane points, which are used to generate the simple geometries that lead to the creation of plans to be used for sketches.
as you can see, the command plans, has countless options, just because to work you have to start from these reference elements.

in your case first put a point on the edge (point on curve), then create the plan (normal plane at a curve) careful to select the point first then the curve.

in the sketch using the option cut the part according to the sketch plane, you can orientate to insert the section of the quarry.

Once released, use the tab command.

you just need to do a proper sketch on any floor passing through the hole axis, in fact the plan that makes you draw gianni passes through the hole axis.
If you don't have those plans and don't want to create them, you can squirt on the face where the hole ends: make a concentric circle to the hole and take off from appropriate distance to another.
