secure creation of a solid

hi to all I happened once to close a series of surfaces with the join command, apparently closed (healing assistant), and effectively I managed to create the solid.(close)
But to read the step of the solid created before, I did not enter as solid but as a series of face with open areas.
It seems strange to me that this happens even if I have to say only rarely.
Can you be 100% sure that the solid is really closed?

the step that you created with catia, did you always open it with catia?
It happens that with a program that generates the step, at the reopening sees all closed sup, if instead the same stepo open it with another modeler, some sup turn out open.
how to do?when joining surfaces apply a lower tolerance.

Another solution, a little longer, is to extend sup and trimmarle between them with the same shortness of tolerances.

Hi the step I always opened it with cathe,
But I think the problem is due to the fact that the piece I received it from outside surely there will be some bad superfice, I noticed to join
in certain areas the curved surfaces me appiativa.
In this case I was interested to close the solid quickly to be able to pull out the drawings. I mean, it doesn't have much intake.
I was closing with the join with a tolerance of 0.04.

alternative solution, but more laborious:
extend all the surfaces, if they are not many and trimmal; In this way you are sure that you have closed them without ceh they deform (they flatten )
