selection of material rendering and assignment objects

I should like to point out that I am not very experienced and I hope that the subject has not already been dealt with. use autocad 2007.
here is my problem: 3d design a cube with a cone beside. from the internet I downloaded the jpg image of a oak wood sheet.
When I try to "recover" the cube with the oak image with "materials/map of diffuse composition" I cover both objects, and I can't keep them distinct. I'd like to cover it with another photograph.
Where am I wrong? thanks for the help and good evening to all.

you need to create two different materials and select only one object at a time
