when you are in the feature series, there are the "black" balls that indicate where the new instances will result, click on it and black, become white, in those points there will be no instances.
However, you can't delete the starting instance, then if you have bound other features on the series instances, you can't delete those instances.

If you have more than 15/20 instances, it becomes difficult to choose from a menu, selecting them from the 3d is much faster and selective.
