Hello, everyone.

I always used ansys 11.0 and oira I have 12.1.
no problem until now because I stayed in classical mechanical simulations.

But now I'm getting some compositions.
I did some simple simulation to remember how to make it work, and I found myself in trouble because of some differences between 11.0 and 12.1:
- in the help there are no shell91 and shell99 elements;
- the simulations with these elements seem not to work well, but only if the elements are not below a certain size...for example, I just need to fill some zone with elements below the millimeter and at the time of the launch of the simulation crashes me, getting out of program stroke....this happens to me with both elements;
- I can't find any more how to plot the interlaminar stress between the results.

failure criteria seem easier to set up.
Can you give me a hand to understand why it crashes and where to go to find the interlaminating cutting plotting?

do you advise me to insist on these shells or is it better to devote to others? (I say a lot about 181).
same request for advice for solid layers... what element do you recommend to me for your experience?

Thanks for any answers!

not finding a solution I tried to make some simple simulations with the shell181 (91 and 99 are no longer in the help... 181 instead yes).

I simulated a fabric and everything was reliable, but at the time when I reset everything to simulate a unidirectional composite, it gives me out deformations, but not tensions (of course not failure criteria). even here I do not understand what happens...with ansys 11 (which I can no longer use having no more xp but win7) I never had these problems!

No one can help me understand what doesn't work?
times have become very close to me. . .

no, sorry, but senile dementia manifests itself at a much lower age:
in the simulation of the fabric I had put 24 layers and plotted the 12th. modified in unidirectional I put 8 layers...but I did not change the output settings and layer 12 did not exist anymore...I still don't understand why I plotted the deformation different from zero, in any case with layer < 9 (and belonging to n) everything has been resolved ;)
