Good morning guys I have a little problem with solidworks.
I should shorten in different points a curve driven by equation, rightly solidworks gives me the error "only the ends of the equation curves can be shortened".
Can someone give me tips to handle this?
could you turn the curve driven by equation into a normal curve and then shorten it?

I, rightly, have never seen a message like that.
You don't know how the curve is.
You don't know how the equation is handled.
You don't know what the curve means.
you need input... input... input

I'm sorry to try to explain myself better.
practically is a sinusoidal curve crossed by a series of perpendicular lines to its axis.
with the command shorten entities I should break the sinusoid in correspondence of these lines perpendicular to the axis of the sinusoid, only that it is not possible to shorten a curve driven by equation unless it is at the end of the same.

a curve is supposed to be developed three-dimensionally.
the command shortens entity is used in 2d sketch environment.
The situation here is quite strange.
if an entity is guided by an equation is subordinate to this and any command used downstream without interrupting the equation would affect its operation but in fact from within the sketch is not possible.
You will understand that giving you a sensible answer is difficult if not going to keep

I am in 2d sketch environment.
If I generate an offset entity of the sinusoid I can break it quietly but the mother sinusoid does not.
I understand that the equation cannot be interrupted because in the first message I asked if it could be transformed into a standard curve type spline and then use the command shortness entity

How do I cancel the equation?
the sinusoid I drew it with the curved command driven by equation

to have known before... .

do a very small offset, 0.00001 for example, and delete the original curve
