good morning to all, I am new and I presented myself in the appropriate section. I hope to be useful and contribute in my little to the community.
We come to my simulation.
I want to simulate the passage of a polymer through the holes of an extrusion matrix.
to model the volume I thought of using solidworks 2007 (very simply sketch + extrusion) and I saved the model as a step file. for now I try the passage in one hole, as a preliminary simulation.
from here I opened polyflow, especially polyman, and I started gambit useful for mesh. I imported the model, executed a standard mesh (I did not change anything in the options) as a preliminary study I do not care, I saved the meshato volume through "export mesh" and at this point, having selected "polyflow solver" the software saves it as .neu neutral file
All right here.
now in polyman the procedure would be to let him read the meshato volume and once done this opens a screen where you choose "new simulation" and from there on we can insert all the data as material, law used (power law is the first I would like to test) etc.
to great lines is this.
I find myself in difficulty however in the passage between solidworks and polyflow: practically cannot read mesh. I tried to do "converted neutral file" and it doesn't work (it always asks me "select a neutral file first"), I actually add gambit file to the tree on the left then I evidenze it with the mouse and click convert but don't understand it. with fluent as a solutor I remember that it exported directly to "polyflow mesh" here I find myself in difficulty for this .neu format... I can not let it read/convert as polyflow mesh.
if someone has ideas on how to do/talk/perplexity on the procedure I am following are well accepted
thanks to all
