Good morning, everyone!
being part of the technical department of a company that deals with cold molding of metal minuteries (especially special screws) from wire, I often find myself having to design molds and study deformations, both for the support to commercial offices, and for the execution of the equipment to obtain the product. I am now based on the experience of articles so far produced (some thousands), and on basic calculations concerning extrusion relationships, or free deformation limits; often, however, the difficulties related to the deformability of the wire, and it is difficult to accurately predict the moulding forms resulting in very long tooling time.
I therefore have the idea of evaluating the sw programs that help in this sense, so far I have managed to find two specific ones for the sector in the field and in the minute: forge and deform.
Does anyone know them?
Are they reliable?
Are there others?
