Bye to all,
I would like to prepare from home the layouts and then plot them on a hp500 42", I also have the 42 inch roll (106,68cm), but in autocad 2008 I do not find the model with the 42 roll but the 36 (91,4cm).

you have wrong driver installation then. while being the driver a single file, during installation that plotter model (such as the 800 series) allows you to choose the model of 42 or 24 inches.
36 inches is not the driver of that plotter.

ps: the default paper format does not include a sheet of 106 in height. to take advantage of all 106 cm you have to create in the same driver of the plotter a custom size of height 106 for the length you want. custom formats with that driver are up to 5.

I don't have the plotter at home and I'm going to plot fouri in a press center.
So if I don't have the plotter at home I can't create my prints as I always did and I have to set the parameters there on the spot to create my custom format.

by default autocad does not have this model of plotter?

in c:\programs\autocad 2008\drv I have seen that there are interface files of heidi dispositico, but I do not find this type.

In any case, if the external print service has that plotter and you want to go with dwg or plt (which would be better with the latter format), why look for compatible drivers when you can install directly the 500 drivers that are on the hp site?

Can I install it at home where I only have autocad?
In fact I downloaded and then extracting the content creates files with extension that does not know my pc.

Why search for compatible drivers when you can install the 500 drivers directly on the hp website?

The press service is likely to have those drivers installed on the plotter.

do as planner wrote, you can install all the plotters you want even if you don't even own 1, from the plotter print window, produce your plt file to give the print server

It's just a compressed file, decompress it and in windows do "add new printer". in the drivers then give them the path of the decompressed folder ( .inf file). doesn't have a setup file.
And then how much did you want to weigh? It's a simple print driver... .
