sketches and parameters connected between files

I couldn't find discussions about how to connect sketches between two or more files.
I mainly use catia v5 and I would also like in inventor to be able to connect sketches and parameters between one file and the other, but I do not understand how to do it.
the goal is to have in a file the basic sketches (.ipt) to which they will have to refer more components (always .ipt), so that by changing the file with the basic sketches, they automatically change the others.

in catia v5 you simply copy and paste with connection of any geometry or parameter.
in inventor is possible and how?

1) open fx parameters
2) click on link
3) select a excel file or a 3d file . ipt or .iam
