slow slider with 3d display

I have an amd 64 athlon 2600 yet when I rotate 3d, the grey background appears as usual and the 3 axes slider for rotation except that it is frighteningly slow and late, I see the snaps coming after, how come I can act to speed up whenever I do operations in 3d?

the processor unfortunately in these cases serves a little, especially if you work in shady mode is the video card that goes in trip.

then to say it all as well I use a 64bit (xp) to say that the performances if not for the almost infinite availability of ram are less than 32.
