Good morning.

I recently purchased solidcam and is not that I am very satisfied,
I asked to change my posprocessor, and so far they have made several changes, but the result is not what I expected. A lot of things I asked to change or implement cannot be done, this is what the person tells me that does the postprocessor where I bought it, for now avoided to say names, however it is one of the most important solidworks retailers in northern Italy.
At this point I would like to understand, is it not possible what I ask, or do not want to get on the sleeves to customize the post? I mean, I gave him 1200 euros and I think I have the right. on the website of solidcam it is written that it is possible to do certain things, then we know the descriptions are always pumped, and in the practical plan you meet the difficulties.

I ask some questions:
Does anyone have solidcam experience?
Does someone use solidcam with 4 axes machines indexed?
Does anyone use any cam with post processor num?
which program is used to modify the postprocessor for solidcam?

you have all the rights you want, if the changes asked are well expressed black on white, otherwise as usual ... the right is of those who have already taken the money.
However, it is not easy to personalize a post, by experience, less changes are made better, since it usually changes something already done more or less egregiously from the motherhouse.
try to keep everything as much as possible in standard iso, it can be a break and programs are perhaps quite long but you avoid many rear wheels.
to change the posts you usually have a tool available within the program itself, if it is not enough (almost always) you have to switch to more elaborate programs like c++ .
The post phase is, however, the most ruthless of the purchase of a cam and does so many times, who buys it, then does not use it or uses it only in part.

In my opinion you should check that you have provided the right machine parameters taken from your plc manual and an example of program to the person who deals with post processors and calmly see to find a deal!
