hello to all, I think I already asked this question, however I propose it because I still have doubts. There is a difference, from the point of view of both cinematic analysis and stress in solidworks between a sheet metal surface (I think I could define it in a thin wall) and make a solid full and dig it to always obtain a thin parate structure. This doubt comes from the structural point of view because having used other programs like femap - nastran, for this software there is a big difference.

philosophy is the same.
if for nastran and femap consider a thin wall piece or as solid from non-congruent results, also solidworks will give them.
how difficult it is to know how it is for others.
like all things, to achieve good results, you have to approach as much as possible to the real situation.

I get it, some advice. the frame of a vehicle, in particular the longherone, is cable, in particular with a thickness of 3 mm. Given the size I would do it as a sheet, although I think doing it with the thin wall option would not be wrong.
