I tried to turn around both for the forum and for the internet but I didn't find an answer.

I have to give a spring in a very long time. The problem is that it should stay in the middle of 2 circular swabs, so its axis I would like to be coincident with the congungent the centers of the tampons themselves. I have 2 problems: I don't know how to create a reference line that combines the centers of the 2 tampons and I can't in any way select the axis of the spring (cylindrical and straight).

the axis can be created or with a parametric line (insert/curve/line that doesn't even ask you to create a sketch) or with a datum axis.
the spring axis or you have it (datum) or you have to select a cylindrical surface and then you have it on the selectable items list.
