Hello everyone, I have to draw and then assemble in product, a pinion and a rack of an old handle.
the fundamental problem is the fact that being of low invoice the mechanism, the teeth will certainly not be to development of evolving and I believe not even to straight teeth as I have seen a little from the manuals, and the minimum number of teeth for not having interference is about 12 on the pinion while I have just 6 on an external diameter of 20mm ... so I don't know how to draw them, and circle them with the rack (to draw also first). Besides the fact that I don't know a pressure angle, and so I wouldn't even be able to draw the tooth flank and so its shape... Do you have ideas in mind?

Do you have any guides for rack modeling? as regards pinions, from youtube or other they find but on the rack nothing.. I found from a here (I hope I can attach it) http://www.spadantechnic.com/en/articles/catia/catia-gear-app.html but practically once provided the data generates me a file*.catvbs that I just can't open it with catia.

Hi.

the .catvbs file is a macro, so you don't have to open it but copy it to a directory,

then in macro menu/instruments/macro/librerie/add existing library/(all directory containing macro)

once set the macro library, the .catvbs file will appear: select it and execute it
