supeficie filling problem

Hello everyone, during the modeling of a differential I came across a curious error: I have a closed and united surface through the union command that I can't in any way fill in or by command "close a surface" or even by extrusion and cutting of material according to the surface. I also tried to cut the surface to spikes and fill only one part then make a circular matrix but without solving anything. Can someone help me solve this problem?
I attach photos for clarity.
thanks to all, damian clean.

edit: I managed to solve the problem and get a good result going to increase the union command tolerance from 0.001 to 0.01mm. probably during the merging of the surfaces was generated a cusp or an unclosed point that the software recognized as a hole. Thanks again.

Hi.
explain why it models the differential with surfaces and not with a solid?
hi! I made a surface modeling because I had the need to parameterize module, wheel teeth, teeth to be geared (then semi-opening angle of the cone trunk) angle of attack and other things.. I had initially opted for solid modeling, but it didn't allow me to easily put all the relationships (including the most hoisting circle of the flank to change the other parameters) and then make them parameters. In addition, surface modeling seems to me a more elegant solution for complicated elements such as dense wheels! the result in fact has fully satisfied me: all gears work perfectly once assembled and if you need other conical wheels, just change the parameters!
