Hi.
I would like to create a prototype made of sheet metal of a furnishing accessory. more or less the process I would like to follow is what you find at this link for the construction of this cardboard pavilion with rhino.http://www.medaarch.com/2128-cocoon-a-temporary-pavilion/I basically created a 3d surface with irregular curves and I would like to understand how the process of "tassellation" is carried out with a polygon, its planarization and deduction of forms for printing. I need to face the curved solid so that it is reproducible then with flat sides of sheet joined together. as polygons go well of the triangles of different sizes, a little as it is done for geodetic domes. I think it should be done with mesh controls but I don't know how, if anyone could give me an idea of procedure, I'd be grateful.
Thank you, hello to all
