Good evening,
I am new to the forum and I greet everyone.

I have a problem. I have a patterned soundproofing sheet in its working position, so sticking to a flat surface. to get the size of the sheets to buy I need the development in sheet plant. Is this possible with nx5?

hi, to develop the sheet you need to use the formin/flattening module that is located under the sheet metal (see attached image ) but depends on what license you have. you need to check if you have the form in your license file. we as we have been nx users for many years, at the time when there was still no distinction of the various types of licenses (mach1, mach2... ) we have inside our file a module apart which is called advanced sheet metal that allows us to do the mentioned operation. However just try to run the operation and tell you immediately if you have the form or not

Thanks for the answer. But my soundproofing is a sheet of url that fits on surfaces like cloth. in my case the shape is complex. the command you told me is valid the same or is it used only for the plates?

we use it in the field of sheet metals because it is part of our work, it does not remove that in some cases we have complex forms from which to obtain development (see image )

Good morning to all,
for a sheet of soundproofing I think the wrap-unwrap is useful
the curves on the floor,
I used it to draw an object... the massive expansion of a 85cc motocross... and it came well.
also for some perforated roofs of protection exhaust pipes
in Italian should be wrapping like..packing with paper... .

wrap/unwrap should only work on conical or cylindrical faces.
I personally use the command "one step formability" or the metaform found in the module "advanced sheet metal" which is present in some bundle mach3 or is also sold as add on and is floating.
both commands are based on cae calculations, in fact nx creates a mesh to be able to calculate the result. of course the same is according to the material used for the calculation and thickness of the same.
