I had modeled this helmet to propose to a client who uses another software, you say that there are other companies to propose? for work requiring surface modeling?
for what I can see, in my area, made 100 the number of positions by mechanical designer in metal companies, only a small percentage (10%?) requires the ability to model the surfaces. Besides that in the automotive (carrozzeria and interior), they are typically employed in companies that deal with fashion (stamps), nautical or furnishing. developing the ability to shape surfaces well is not an easy thing; then there are cads that do only that (rhino) and others that do it well even if they are cads that are mainly from solid modeling. that cad had the company that refused your candidacy because of the cad?
