and here I am roasting not little...
I just passed to swx2009 sp5, although it should come to me shortly in 2010, but I prefer to install to the sp 2 or 3, as I usually do with the new versions.
now, I have to change laptop and I have already configured one of the m4400 with the fx1700 picture, laptop that sell only with view or win7. I don't even want to see it, that I just need that on my daughter's pc, but what I choose: win7 32 bits or 64bits?

I am waiting for this afternoon for the quote from the commercial of the then I have to decide, because the pc I need for yesterday the other or at the most for yesterday:smile:

Hello and thank you

Hello and thank you
My brother installed the 2010 sp 0 and says it all seems fine to him, until now he has not even had a crash even if it is necessary to say that he as workstation has a missile.

and for choosing 32bit vs 64 bit what do you tell me?

hello and re-thank you

he has a 64bit car with a view, win 7 had not yet come out in October.
of course it is all another story because with a 12 gb ram and a nvidia fx 4800 (solidworks requires many resources in this sense) seems to fly.

I would still put a 64 bit, even with only 4 gb from advantages and no disadvantage: all that is not compatible with win7 64 is not even with win7 to 32.
2009 works with win7, although then you have to do hand updates because the installation manager stops for non-compatibility.
Many users, including our Cubalibre, have already tried 2008 on the beta of win7 and went, if you do a research you will surely find the discussion a few months ago.
for 2010 the service pack 1.0 came out and something will have already settled. on the stability of 0.0.... no comment...
at the demo crashed sometimes and they already screwed me with 2009, they had guaranteed me excellent stability and I let myself try for the increase of the performances, but besides him I became unstable too!!! !
as much as the greed of swx resources....is not so greedy. I do great machines and facilities and I have a 490 / xeon 5160 / 6gb ram / 2x320 raid1 hd / 3500 picture.
sta machine was a bomb 3 years ago but it is not comparable with the latest-generation workstations.
now as now with an assembly i7 - 8gb - picture 1800 you get performance quite superior on 1500 €.
other observation: Given 64 and seven 64, they exploit much better xp graphics resources, in my opinion.
I have all xp (64 and 32 mixed), but I will migrate in a few months to seven with all workstations, I think it is worth it.
some users confirmed that with a workstation like my installing seven they found a great performance gain

Hello and thank you
I checked for the m4400 you can still have downgrade. so you could buy it with both licenses and still use it for a little xp.
if the site leaves this possibility it should also do your commercial.

I am using pack 1.0 of 2010 and it is not that it is very stable, very far from how it behaved 5.0 or 4.0 of 2009. Just morning 2 sudden crashes and many nice paroliness to my pc...we hope you a case...

What to say... I thank you and hope you can report every problem, so those like me who will wait for the service pack 3 or 4 will find an already stable product.

However brand narrow assistance, is the only way.

I also just bought a new ws of the.sic as I noticed that there are no drivers for w7 for my plotter, autocad 2004 does not work at 64 bit (at least so I was told), I could have problems even with the cam, swx 2009 is not certified for w7, well, at this point I preferred to format everything and put on the good old xp, at least until it has been tested the w7.
Hi.

Hi.
At worst, I also considered this temporary solution.

then download microsoft xp emulator, free for win7. solidworks 2009 still turns well on w7, while autocad turned it into emulation.
99.9% view drivers are also good for win7, so if you can use those.
