I was wondering what the command "path" on composer serves.
Would anyone explain?

ah ok, gazie mille @sperx . in simple words, highlight the path you have made to the object moved compared to the still one.
perhaps makes it clear how some components are exploded, so as to facilitate the understanding of who reads or sees the explosive axieme.
For example, in my explosion, you do not understand which components are translated down and which are translated horizontally, but if I adopted the "path" command, I would make understanding easier.
