Good morning to all,
I am doing a project that provides to simplify the entrance of a nail (not a screw) inside a hole.
This nail is equipped with a head larger than the hole (diameter greater than 2 mm), while the body is smaller than 1 mm.
When I start the simulation with a force of just 1 n, the nail disappears, as if the head does not even notice that you must stop when touching the hole wall.
The only solution I found is to put springs between the head and the upper edge of the hole, but it seems to me to "snatch it".
Basically: how do I say that when you meet the hole wall you have to stop?
Thank you all.

Thank you for the answer!
second is the 3d contact not associated with the study of movement? I refer to simulation because I need to calculate the force to push the nail.
I have done a whole series of contact groups without interconnection but it seems strange to me. . .
can I put the 3d contact also in simulation?
Thank you.

in the study moving tab, in the lower window, on the top left you have to select motion analysis, so the nail stops. I just did it with a f=1n and it works.

Hi.
Sorry, I followed your directions, but it doesn't appear in the drop down menu analysis of the movement, but only "basic movement" and "animation". . .
Didn't I set any parameters?

Thank you very much

motion analysis is enabled only if you have a premium license and in tools -> additions is enabled solidworks motion.
