sweep on faces

solidworks 2008.
I have to project a spiral on a ball and then create a profile to extrude with sweep cut. but when I create my spiral encounter of problems:
- does not project the blue spiral (with command "projects the curve");
- to project it I have to convert it into a sketch entity, but when I go to project it generates two different propellers (right in the first half of the sphere and left in the second half);
- if instead the project with half ball, I do not end the propeller in a 0tangent way with the flat face.
the mechanical intent is to create a path for deposit of lubricating grease between ball and ball seat.

create your outer spiral to the sphere.
make a sweep surface along the propeller of a segment designed on the end of the propeller and perpendicular to this (in that point) and long enough to enter the volume of the ball at the lowest point.
then use the "intersection curve" tool that creates the intersection curve between the helical sweep and the ball surface.
Then you can use the curve that turns out on the ball to make your dig.

Thank you marcof. I opened the file and saw the result. solidworks makes it complicated, is it necessary to move from the surfaces? I unfortunately ignore them. I know that a program, which is called solid top, runs it easier and starting from a spiral and not from a propeller.

you "translate" a certain dose of constipation even if you are definitely making irony (but then please use the face:smile. I don't think anyone told you anything irreparable (at least "made fries") and as you see the "real" and resolute councils have arrived.
Come on, for a couple of simple and civil rules common to All the network.. If you take it so little, you want it. .

is not that swx (I did it with 2007) makes it complicated. the projection of a curve starting from the propeller feature, unless you want to forget, does not do it.
What I have proposed is an escamotage to circumvent the limitation, making a very simple sweep surface.
