Hello.

In the company we are in the phase of management change of production and reorganization of the management of the new projects, but unfortunately I have escaped two people in production and I'm become crazy to jump between inventor fresa, tornio and montaggi.

to avoid stupid decisions given by the total lack of time, they are looking for a little bit of ideas to see how to arrange the management of new projects.

how are you organized when you have to leave with a new machine?
do you codify everything from the avant-garde?
Speaking codes?
Scaroboronate pieces until a compelling solution comes out and start bowing them?
how do you manage the size to span when you still have to decide what way to take to solve a problem?
Storage bankruptcy ideas and tests?
etc. etc...

in general we have the corporate coding to follow, talking codes with progressive part.
the whole project will have new name as together and as a car. then you see if you recycle part, parts, assemblies of things already done and encoded.
all pre-projects and prototypes are randomly coded and then once appropriate they are re-encoded to make them final. sometimes if you already decide everything on the printed drawings and the modification is very defined, it codifies directly.
from us you use pdm, archive divided for machines with ancient encoding. both systems survive well if there is method.

at the moment we have speaking code (abc1234f0987h, 3 letters for the model of machine, 4 digits for the size, a letter if we talk about welded assembly, sheet, commercial worked etc, 4cifre progressive for the piece, a letter for possible treatment)

a project file for each machine model with various sizes inside.

Some confusion arises when a component is recycled on multiple models but nothing particularly serious.

the management of the commercial components, however, is quite horrid, especially if we talk about pieces of commerce that are then processed (form et similar gears)

the avanproject is done by giving descriptive names to the pieces (pino spacer, gino cam etc) and eventually codifies everything with the design assistant, but it takes an eternity of time and often creates problems.

Sizes, tests, photos of old worn parts etc are archived fairly randomly......... .

Hi. .
we in the company have a coding of this kind:
a123-123
the first 4 digits indicate the machine, number of orders (progressive number with letter to front, to 999 will change in b)
5.a and 6.a indicate the subgroups of machine (progressive number, so I can have a machine with 99 subgroups)
the last three figures particular number is welded and normal processing up to 499 particulars per group

the last three digits take number from 901 to 999 if it is a commercial detail that has been processed. . .
the details have numbering following the last 3 digits of the general code
commercials have numbering from 501 to 899 (normally not exceeding 599)

until before the pdm we duplicated the similar details by changing the n°committee and/or group so we have the certainty that if we make a small modification on a particular born and dies in the order, however also now with the pdm, we maintain the same procedure.

Finally, for the particular "standard company", they have a number similar to the code seen above, but with completely foreign encoding to the orders.
es: fi123-123
I hope I was useful. . .

we are so organized:
the code is: 0002-s-000-000

where, first three digits, progressive numerical
fourth digit, type of machinery
first group three digits, groups for 50 codes, e.g. 0002-s-050-000, first group ----> details, from 51 to 99 and so on.
second group three digits, same speech of the first for subgroups / subparts.

I hope you can help

we do not make machinery but pumps, however we operate like this:
the study is catalogued as "project" with a very simple code of its own which is given by the last 2 digits of the year and by a progressive (17001-17002 etc).
We use the vault, so everything is stored inside. inside the project there are various sections, such as dimensioning, relationships etc. always inside the project there are also 3d models and drawings not yet encoded but filenamed that describes the particular, group etc.
Once you find a good solution you begin to codify details and from that point on everything refers to codes, see orders to suppliers, internal processing, orders of commercial parts etc.

Good job

thanks for the answers,

more doubt.... use all code.ipt form, so first you draw with "comodi" names and then eventually start rename with design assistant and/or copy and replace component or have more comfortable/rapid solutions?

we use the basic vault that is included in the license.
in the study/project phase use a simple file name, for example the description of the particular.
arrived at the final version coding, in the vault it is very simple.
Then I move the various files into the right folders, the vault keeps me all the links and the operation is very lean.
