Hi, I'd like some clarifications about an exercise they assigned me in one. I should calculate the tension on a rivet that connects two plates subjected to two cutting forces agents on the plates themselves (the connection is forced). I read the discussion about the forced link and applied all the procedures described. after about 4 hours of analysis my pc finds no solution.
I wonder:
1)Is it normal that with only one rivet the computer cannot find any solution?
2)The following constraints I entered are correct?
a) friction between rivet base and plates;
b)no separation between the two plates.
thanks in advance for the answer :biggrin:
