Good afternoon,
I am evaluating the use of thermoforming printed parts for a new project, I wanted some information about the abc of this process:
for thicknesses from 3 to 5mm of material I wanted to know the minimum shape and the minimum internal radius of the particular format (so minimum of the mold).
do you know reliable sites to refer to for certain basic notions?
Moreover, I wanted to know if the thickness of the thermoform is quantifiable in some way, i.e..... how much is the intial thickness of the panel reduced? I suppose it is linked to the depth and complexity of the finite detail, but are there empirical methods to understand approximately the post-forming transformation?

Thank you.
Good weekend

ciao, @daniele-san ,

a long time ago I designed components made with this codesign technology with the molder. it is also convenient for you to turn to those who will have to make the mould or to professionals who do special with this technology. have you evaluated alternatives?

hi, I had the opportunity to design thermoformed parts, what I know I learned by attending suppliers, who explained most important things to know as the collaboration went on. 3d modeling made it "baptizing" a constant theoretical thickness (which is not said was always the minimum); was then the supplier to choose the thickness of the starting film to reach the minimum thickness we thought together was binding; often used tests with different thicknesses. also the type of finish (smooth or embossed) contributes to a different stretching of the film. I don't remember exactly, but I don't think we can get down below 2nd.

you obviously, but in the first instance one tries to make a project not defined 100% to proceed with a cost assessment with multiple suppliers then, once chosen you enter the detail,
Thank you.
