thermal contact

Hi guys, I would like to set the heat contact between two bodies and then perform a transitory analysis in ansys apdl..I have small doubts: in practice with the contact pair command select the two contact lines, then the program obviously asks me the termal contact conductance. . .Being the two bodies one in steel and the other in aluminum in how do I interpret it?? ? Should I insert an average value between the two?? Thank you!:smile:

see the online guide, chapter 7.1 "modeling thermal contact"
in particular see 7.1.4 "modeling conduction".
low values of tcc = imperfect contact
high values of tcc = ideal contact
the temperature of your 2 bodies will depend on how much "flats" are the surfaces in contact, how much the two bodies are pressed among themselves, the possible presence of surface treatments (anodization, painting) that act as "thermal resistance" etc.

Excuse me but what is the order of magnitude of tcc for an ideal contact?
10, 100, 1000?

also the value of tcc is linked to the kx of the material? ?
