Hello everyone,

It is the first time I write in this forum and I do it for a problem that I hope is banal. in fact they are at the first weapons with solidworks and finished my project I need to save it in step format. at the reopening of the axieme, after saving it in step format, I lose however all the couplings of the original file that presents the two components in contact, that is in the same position of the solidworks file, but without coupling.

I can't understand why and solve the problem.

thanks in advance of the help and good holidays to all.

hi aberto and welcome in cad3d.it,
the first message you should post it in the appropriate section to present you.
It's also useful for us if you place some print-screens, or the file we're dealing with to better understand and help.
you tried to click on the rebuilt button once exported to .stp format. What do you mean you lose mating? Do they make you mistake?

Thanks for the prompt response, as soon as possible I will write a presentation message.

However I tried to click on rebuild but nothing happens. simply when I open the step file there are no more couplings. I'm gonna get your files up?

reopening of the original file or the step file?
the step file rightly loses any solidworks function because it is a neutral file. If you open that file with inventor how should you read the couplings?

try downloading a set from a site (a skf support for example) and you will see that it behaves exactly the same way; all vcomponents are free

si alla reopening of the step file. Sorry I didn't know that the couple weren't kept on a step file. and how could I do to save my project in one paired component and then be able to save it in step? because I need to pass it in step files.

save it as a part and expose it.

However, you need to know how the program is to be loaded on and then talk to the receiver. for example solidworks loads multibody both as axioms and as parts according to the options set.
remains implied that those who receive the file should not move anything, indeed it should block all the components.

Thank you, I've done this and pretty well.

Good morning, I have a question.
is it possible to save a set in a step file as if it were a single file?
I'll explain.
if except the xxx.asm file (composed by 3 parts) as .step file I will have only one component or however the three parts in the step file?

ps: I ask this question because in the environment together I can not use the "superfici" module active in the part but not active together.

Thank you very much to tutit.
