I wanted to have a problem that I can't give a solution for a long time. in my work I use catia v5 release 19, and I am dealing with dense wheels and rotisms, and I would like to realize in 3d a cylindrical wheel to teeth rights, starting from the parameters of project.

in pennies giving in catia the calculated parameters (module, correction, pressure angle...), extract the geometry of the whole wheel or at least only the tooth.

Perhaps the top would also introduce the interasses and reduction ratio to get the 3d model of the 2 coupled wheels.

What if the gears were helical?

thanks for the attention

you can do everything you want... using parameters .

and therefore also create helical gears:smile:

for example, you could parameterize the angle you need to repeat the tooth, in the command that generates "matrices" (circular in this case).
the angle will function of the module and the number of teeth.

However, at first sight it seems complicated, especially in the case of "errate" inputs.
maybe you should do standard "parts" (file) that however group only a number of cases (a file for module 1, one for module 1,25 etc...).
definitely a division I would do is that between straight teeth and helical teeth.
but also the presence or not of the hub.
another way could be to use a project table.
so there, there would be no input errors (unless the table is wrong!).

It's an interesting business, so good work.

caio antony, I attach you a 3d file, had by my catia dealer a few years ago,
where by means of parameters it generates a toothed wheel rights,
Try to see if it can suit you, for helical teeth... I'm sorry but I never used them

Thank you very much
they were very useful, even if there was no parameter of correction that I added without problems, even if pravando to use them as verification of my calculations the only thing that does not return to me is the diameter of head after correction: the calculated value does not match that provided by the model.
I tried to recheck calculations and pattern but they're both correct. Does anyone have any ideas about it?
