Hi.
the question is simple... the old catodic tube monitor left us, sin because it was really good (resolution of 2040x1536).
now the new ones are only led or lcd, from here you do not run.
small note, I wonder why if the graphics cards are competing for those who have more resolutions (type to arrive at 2040x1536), then the monitors so flat have a maximum lower.... and more you can't climb.... it seems to me a countersensus! ! !
Anyway, I was thinking of a touch screen kept parallel to the keyboard... .
that I would use only more for text input.
(package models give directly the keypad of numbers to the side of the insertion quota).
question: pro/e, (ok I now create but I am from the rel 18 I use it), is compatible with a touch screen? in windows xp64 bit (packages give drivers also for the xp).
I explain, type to use with a pen in sketch and design mode, and hands to rotate, zoom etc.... 3d.
(there are the pens for the capacitive, or at the limit there goes 2 seconds to make one).
the monitor of course I would tilt it as the dear old tecnigraph (for who knows what it was;-) ).
Who can answer?
Thank you.

I don't know if it is... But if it is and you start working by touching the monitor, please, please, invite me to see you/ admire you...

little laughing, I'm really tired of working so static... from the tecnigraph that involved a lot of movement, we've been increasingly working static..... more and more...
my idea and double monitor, tecnigraph touch and vertically the second for notes, mail etc....
I would like this solution to feel a little less static sedentary....
move more who is in the commercial or in the shopping office... .
Unless you have to go online for control measures, it can happen to pass all day glued and static.... I'm giving head....

I did home tests on the fixed pc both with penmouse, wacom graphics tablet and on the tablet with fingers/pennines. result and conclusion from me is that the current mouse/keyboard matching is the best as performance/work type our at cad.

the evidence I've done has been out of curiosity and evaluation. I saw various demo/videos on autodesk sketchbook programs with the use of graphic display boards and I tried too.

on my tablet is improposable, first because it is capacitive, i.e. it works with the touch of the fingers, but also using the special pen the reaction times and precision leave much to desire, according to even if I had one of those resistives that only works with the pennino the work area is tiny. mine was however a test to see if I could use the tablet as a blocknotes where to take notes and draft some drawings quickly as on a sheet of paper.

the penmouse is uncomfortable for when you have to click dx and sx as it is using the tip by beating it on the pad or the button close, in the act of moving the finger shifts the pointer and therefore risk not to take the graphic entity that interests you.

As for touch monitors you'd tired of using them after half an hour because keeping your arms up and moving to make modeling is not like making graphic works that you would use your fingers or pen like a pencil on a sheet of paper. the work area would always be full of fingerprints and working with a tilted monitor you would have on one side problems of light reflection from above and on the other that the neck would stanch too much to stay bent down even if little.

I'm still talking about a busy job all day, if you talk about portable touch boards where to view projects in the yard and changes to the flight like having a laptop that is something I'm looking for. there are also good but currently high prices

I don't just talk about ipad tablets, there are also more specific... If I find the links I place them.

of specific display graphic boards there are wacom cintiq and beautiful company but the costs are high and are not portable.

then the ipad do as much as the tablet with win7 that I have, maybe it will be more responsive and ok for tc and display, but also with my are not less, in fact I have installed also the solid edge st4 student and turns quietly just that you don't work there as mentioned above.

The wacoms I saw them in the fiat style center and they look great for what you said...

with the iPad do that and a lot of other things... next on these screens. -30.

I remember that for nx/teamcenter they had done something for the iPad already last year... What's in the yard again?

Remember well.

What tablet do you have tequila?
when I worked in America I had the cintiq 12wx of the wacom (about 1000 dollars). It's great for sketching but not for cad.
I saw on you tube that with ipad you can virtualize win7.
looks cool :-)

question for the_matrix
Do you have any news about integration between nx and ipad?

ciao
What does that mean?

for the part there concept that is now called creo sketch know that it exists and also with double monitor.
I have recently taken a precision m6600 that already integrates the touch with pen or finger.. the result for the docs is also sodiscente, for proe not so much.
ps: it seems that in 2012 max 2013 also pro/e will land on mac. :-)

moniter 27" and 30" have the maximum resolutions supported by the vga, these resolutions do not make sense on 22", do you think? 30" of, for example, arrives at 2560x1600.

What does that mean?
ds with 3dvia mobile allows you to view cv and sw models on apple devices.
siemens (I think) with teamcenter mobility allows the same thing.
I would therefore ask if there will be future developments on this front.

Hi.
I have a Chinese tablet found on ebay with win7 ultimate http://china-made-wholesale.com/g10...-windows-7-os-multi-touch-160g-hard-disk.htmlmine is the g101 with screen 10", now there is also the r106 version (change some components)... in the end it is a compact netbook with mounted a touch display. I paid it a little less than 200€ a year and a half ago about and thanks to the brother we fixed it because he had problems with backlight.
on ebay you will find several even if you pay caretti (from 250€ on save occasions), from my point of view.

the ipad is beautiful, it is lighter and has the screen slightly more square than mine which is a 16/9 and the battery lasts much more. mine with win7 and standard setting lasts less than 2 hours. but I have a hd from 160gb 3 doors usb with the ipad that from 16gb if you download something you no longer have nothing left and then spend 500 euros for that base seems really excessive
