trim surfaces

Hello, everyone. .
you could give me a detailed explanation about the word trim surfaces.
I don't know what it means and I am particularly interested because I have been devoted to trim the surfaces so as not to weigh a file.data ke io for work I have many Boolean differences to carry out.

I've been crazy until now
I have rhino in Italian....
I understand a lot of English
You know what you're saying...
but if you consider the thing rhino calculates geometries or better solids
and anke in case of trim or split instead of boolean the file remains slightly lighter
I would tear my hair one by one doing trimm or split on all surfaces ke pattern....thanks!!!! for the interest
