Hello I should carry out for an examination a tubular frame for a microcar car and as software we operate the choice is between solidedge (but the license is that for v17), thinkdesign and catia v5 r17. the choice fell on catia v5 having had to use it for a previous examination (very marginally).
back to the project I was wondering how to operate.
I personally thought I'd make sketches on several floors and then make extrusions with an assigned section, but it seems particularly complex
and very little adequate especially in correspondence of attacks at 90° and also I heard of skeleton in proe, which allows starting from the schlec to obtain then the complete structure imposing the type of tubular to be used. Is there anything like that in the casket?
It is understood that at the moment I would be really grateful for any advice, maybe some tutorials or guides on similar topics (the realization of a simple piece).
I thank you in advance for the answers:

there is the form structure design who should do what he does...
I say it should be because I never used it (I don't have the license) but if you have an open student license maybe helping you with the help you should do something..........
otherwise wait for someone who knows how to use it and informs you............

I will try to be clearer:
there is an environment similar to what happens in solidedge, solidworks and inventor, in which there is the possibility to realize a 3d sketch (it moves in the 3 sizes) and then automatics to apply the type of "saldates" (tubolars, beams etc) allowing also to vary the modes of "supply-welding". I don't want to believe there's not because catia is the older brother of solidworks!! !

Have you tried the structure design module????? ? ? ?
If you try to "pasticciarci" a bit you will see that you do + or - what you want.......
If you don't have a license to use it then you have to choke everything in parts.................. .

or use the rest of cad + "complete" .. ...
