Hello everyone,
in these days I am trying more deeply vectorworks 2009, in order to finally decide overcoming autocad. the first impact has been a bit rigid, I think that modeling 3d is not properly fluid and sliding (of course that much will depend on the fact that with this program they are at first arms, however...).
after trying sketchup and bonzai3d, I wondered if there is a parametric that however has the fluidity of modeling of sk or bonzai, or rhino...
Hi.

as you say it is a matter of first impact and you have to enter into the logic of the program to understand how it works.
vw uses the parasolid kernel, so it allows a precise and rather fluid modeling. However, it is a design software and not a pure modeler like those you mention, so it is difficult to compare.
I do.

Thank you, Lory.
I am actually trying because I look for an "architectural" program and vw was recommended by a dear friend and colleague... However, for example, revit models with a much greater amount of controls, arrows and darts on the object, and similar things, which allow a possibility of change fearful. Sure, if not erro costs almost triple of vw architect etc etc.
with vw, apart from the question of the Moroccan procedure to extrude, if I extrude a prism from a polygon I have the impression that the possibilities of modification of the obtained solid are few and rigid, as are parallel the modes of making "orbit" around the object.
continue to try :-)

I do not know revit, but the objects (scales, walls, doors, etc.) of vw allow a good level of customization. and solid modeling can be there where the objects do not arrive. This, at least, based on my work experience. in the 3d shovel you find many tools to model (loft, solid shell, etc...)... it is worth continuing to explore it:-)
I do.

Okay, thank you, I will, but I got a crush on revit and I still don't want to know how much it costs :-)))))
