I use allplan 16.1 and I must continue to use it on a post where I can not update the s.o. a win xp because on xp (already tried) the installation goes to good end, but when it comes to launching the sw, it tells me that it does not see the hw security key.

is definitely a problem related to the "visibility" of the physical license key.

I'm afraid you can't do anything, but maybe someone can suggest what to do (avoid to give me a solution to update the version of allplan: too easy!).

If there is no solution, at the worst I will install two s.o. on the new pc.

more than giving you solutions I would invite you to read the forum regulation and to present you before asking.

I didn't think there were so many users who use old versions of allplan as in 16. is already the second one I find in this forum (the other is melastudio with which unfortunately I had a little screzio).

I think the problem might arise from the fact that the hardlock driver was not installed. if I'm not mistaken nemetschek provides a link to download it (it should be the following http://www.allplan.it/dc.zip). Try, maybe just solve it like that. However, it contradicts the compatibility of operating systems. for experience to force installations on non-certified o.s. for the version of allplan in question (and also for obviously other versions) is risky.
Moreover, if you allow me a further advice, it is true that you can install double o.s. (depending on the hardware -partition or double disk........according to me not so convenient as a solution), but I don't know how much it is worth.............if you also consider that to be in order you should pay both licenses of the two operating systems.

In fact, the sw is certified for win95/98/2000.................. but the
computer routes are "infinite": Maybe it could work.

I'm a devil's lawyer. If the license you have on your old pc is oem type you can't use it on another pc... The old license follows the old pc.
I think I'm a driver problem, and not so much of the operating system.

It works!

I can retire the old pc (which was becoming a little too slow) and finally use only the post where I have xp.

I'm glad you were helpful. This type of things (and others) are resolved, as always, by the technical assistance of nemetschek. that is why I "alter" when in some forums I read negative and absolutely false judgments (as happened also in this.... and I refer to the discussion on the problem shadows, not to mention the discussions that were born on the allplan forum now closed).

you are certainly right, but unfortunately not being in service contract anymore, rightly I do not think that the technicians would answer me; Also for this in fact I am considering updating the sw to rel. 2012 (considered that in the middle of versions have already passed several), also because, if not mistaken, it will be the last version to turn on xp.
If I wanted to wait for the next release, I would also have to change o.s. (and I don't want much).
