the bim process has little to do with the possibility of using plug-ins (free or not), in the sense that the key to everything is the process. I was so lucky to go to a conference held by patrick macleamy that I think bim knows something about it. It didn't seem to me that hok's co was talking about opensurce in a particular way. Actually, since we are at home nemetschek, I also had the opportunity to attend a conference held in Sanmarino this spring and the same managing director of nem italia did not talk about opensurce and plug-in, but simply of processes and platforms (and their technical director also showed it). I also have to say that the nem representatives were the only ones who had the courage to open the software and show real processes, which others present did not.also a real bim must be opensource so that third parties can develop independent plug-ins
