I am struggling with structural analysis and I am using ansys v. 11.
the tension state is flat, so I am using plane elements.
I initially chose the plane42 element (the classic diaphragm quadrilateral with linear sides).
to have more accurate results using the p son method passed to plane82
(square-sided diaphragm square of the serendipity family).
I ask you:
1) if you want to adopt a plane element of the lagrange family
(quadrilateral with internal knots and contour)
What should I choose?
2) how do you take out the processing time?
(... to measure computational cost)
