I'm from autocad. I ask when I open a new design I just start drawing or is it always better to set a scale with document/options/scale drawing?

you plan in meters, if you want in centrimeters you have to set it up. the change of stairs is automatic, because if you select the scale to 100 the parametric objects have a degree of detail, if the selection to 50 a more detailed, etc.

Maybe you talk about the unit of measurement, which is different from the scale. When you write "1" if you want it to be a meter or an inch, it depends on the measuring unit.
