a greeting to the whole forum. I have written 10 minutes ago but I am already questioning. Having attended a course of c4d I then realized that importing files of objects of my customers to render photographically, the curves and edges are not respected often and willingly froze away. I noticed that importing in rhino 4.0 in stp and going out in 3ds are created triangular polygons and this to c4d does not like much. Now my question is this: Could I not make it all directly with vray in rhino or any other 3d modeler getting the same photo quality? in rhino can I make simple animations and there are enough simple tutors to learn?
I chose rhino because I liked the name and saw that it saves in several formats. the important thing for me that I have to start over is to start with something valid that allows me to photographically render.
I thank those who had the courage to read all this and wanted to give me an answer

definitely you can only use rhino with a rendering plugin, but there is not only vray, there are also brazil, maxwell, fryrender, and flamingo. but you will not have the same rooms, with frames etc. except on maxwell where you can export to maxwell studio.
However I often carry out from rhino to cinema and all in all, and you optimize a bit the export there are no problems.

Thank you very much for the answer. you know, having not yet used vray or any other prg to r3enderize I was oriented on vray seen the photo results that it can give. I read very well also of maxwell but it seems to be slower. I will have to decide seeing something rendered and that however it is "easy" understanding. for the export that I made in c4d I found enormous difficulties as I said the previous post so much as to induce me to reconsider the sftw to adopt as I implement to my work, that is to receive 3d drawings from customers, so in the most diverse formats, and to render them as images made in the studio or set in the outside. the advice I was looking for was precisely addressed to the type of package to be adopted.

but in what format do you carry to cinema4?
My brother uses it with great satisfaction, and if we have to make some projects we have seen that the best format is vrml (.wrl).

Well, I tried all kinds, but nothing to do. the writings that should appear on the object deform and the polygons do not maintain a linear rendering of the series that the rays are squared. If you want, I could send you the file so you try. It's nothing heavy, at least you can tell me if it's me that I don't understand anything or if it's really the only file in the world that can't be converted faithfully. possibly with mesh to quadrilateral polygons.

I think your problem is an insufficient mesh definition compared to the size of the item you want to export.

export in obj format and when the parameters window appears that you see in the attached image sets those values.
remember that for a good visualization the mesh can not regardless of the size of the object.

nb: in case you appear the window with the simplified parameters, just click on the button under the word "more polygons" because you access the window I mentioned.

Make a try and then let us know:

If you just want to change, luxology import and export to 3dm, the native rhino format, and has an exceptional rendering engine, with a preview in real time very fast.

I tried to make conversions in obj and wrlm and the best is obj but leaves some open polygons and they are to be chased to make to see the deformations. But wrlm touches my curves. Today I will try to increase polygons. I noticed that in obj I join all the pieces. Can I keep them apart so I can animate them separately?
