workspaces su intralink 9.1

Hello, everyone.
I wanted to know how the management/logic of the classic workspace/commonspace will be.
to date with 3.4 working in local workspace and commonspace on the server.
with 9.1 how will workspace management be? I read that it takes a cache server to manage cad files and that manages anke the personal workspace of the user and the shared one.
Who explains the operation? who is already using it? I know pdmlink works the same way.
we should use it with pro/and wildfire 4.

other thing: the .proi file that currently does not have to exceed 2 gb then there will still be?

Hello goodwin,
in pdmlink there is still the logical workspace/commonspace, but with the workspace that has a difference compared to intralink; there is the client side workspace and the server side workspace.
when saved from proe, except the file in the local workspace, then with the command uploads the file saves the file even in the workspace server side (wanting you can set up with an option of the config file that saving loads even on the server side, depends if you are in lan or access remotely).
the workspace is managed in this way for a security speech, if your disk or workstation issues, just sign in from another location with your user and pmdlink backs your local workspace from the server.

regarding .proi there is a similar folder in which pdmlink files are saved, managed in a completely different way than intralinks and with much greater limits, but I cannot tell you exactly if there is a defined limit.

You were very clear in the answer.
I am now using intralink 3.4 and we are preparing for migration to intralink 9.1.
I wanted to ask you: Now that we have the proe configuration for 3.4 what should we change in the config.pro file to make the clients work properly with the new environment?
I think you will have to "direct" to proes that the commonspace and workspace nn are located + there but on another server to properly check-in/check-out.. .

other thing: do you know by chance how to create a macro for direct printing of a design on the system printer by already setting the margins to 0.95 and full plot?

setting of the pdmlink server should be made from the tool menu --> server manager
recording the path of the new server.

for the macro I do some tests and then I let you know.
