Hello everyone!
I'm desperate for a new workstation, so I can make renderings. use programs type 3ds max, revit, autocad, photoshop. the doubt is between a precision t5810/ t1700 or a nice assembly! budget max 1400-1700€.

Tower hypothesis:

intel core i7 4790k / 4 ghz
kingston hyperx fury - 8 go (or 32 gb de ram)?
msi z97 pcs
crucial bx100 ssd 250 go / 500go
hd 3.5" wd caviar black 1 to /64 mo
be quiet! straight power 10 | 600w cm (or be-quiet l8-630w pure power 80+ bronze)?
asus geforce gtx960 2 go strix (or picture k1200 / picture k2200) ?
bequiet boitier silent base 600

What do you think? advice?

I am for the assembly (but only because I had a disappointment from the last purchase, not for technical reasons).

32 gb ok, no more, but no less.
- graphics card: gtx960, okay, but for safety, check that the programmes you use do not require the framework for certification reasons (it does not seem)
- cpu: if the software you use (and budget) don't make you point to a separate gpu, consider also the option 6-8 physical cores (e.g.
http://ark.intel.com/products/82932/ ). You should spend about 200€ extra and mount a 2011-3 lga motherboard, but gain on the scalability of rendering processes (heavyly multicore) in a proportional way to the number of physical cores. with 4790 you'd still be fine!

Hello alessia79!
What kind of make you usually do. ..complete, simple,....type advertising or interior with so many light effects? Are you one who has patience to sell and that total running time does not affect your nervous system?
If you are 4790k or 6700k can do your case if you don't have to go of cpu and vga more advanced like i7 5820k or 5930k or on the xeon of high end for the vga I would not go under a gtx 980.

I actually start working seriously on the 3d, but in general I would like a quite performing machine having to work mainly on rendering of interior or exterior with vegetation, which still needs a long calculation. so already that I have to invest I would like something performing, but I don't want to spend a madness, because I don't work on my own and so the pc I just need to learn well 3ds and for private purposes. I also received a second quote. What do you say?

- cooler master silencio 550
- corsair cx600 v2
- asus b85-pro gamer
- intel core i7-4790k
- crucial memoire kit 2x8 go 16bt ddr pc3-12800 - ct2kit102464ba160b
- seagate desktop hdd 1tb sada hdd
- asus turbo-gtx970-oc-4gd5 nvidia geforce gtx 970 4go
- Gravier dvdrw
- microsoft windows 7 pro sp1 64-bit

total 1491 euro

if for private purposes it is fine, even beyond the requirements: Great car.
if you have no compatibility problems with the software you will use, even win10 is now a mature know.

for the graphics card: great choice, but if the price difference between 960 and 970 allows, you might think to mount a 960 but with 32gb of total rams.

Is the first or second quote better for you?

hi I found these two configurations

intel core i7 5820k 3.3 ghz 6 core
32gb ram ddr4 2133mhz (expandable up to 64gb ram)
hard disk sata3 2000gb 7200rpm 64mb cache seagate
hard disk ssd 512gb m.2 crucial
Burner dvd liteon
motherboard x99 intel
video card nvidia geforce gtx970 4gb dedicated
700w certified power supply 80+ active pfc
case atx sound absorbent with speed control internal fans
integrated memory card reader
sound card 5.1 onboard
lan 10/100/1000 onboard
€1775

intel core i7 6700k 4000mhz quad core
16gb ram ddr4
hard disk sata3 ssd 250gb crucial
hard disk sata3 2000gb
dvd burner
mainboard gigabyte z170xp sli
video card nvidia picture k2200 4gb dedicated
700w certified power supply 80+ active pfc
wifi card
sound card 6.1 onboard
lan 10/100/1000 onboard
€1749

in the second I would remove the k2200 (from alone costs about €450/500) and put the gtx 970 of the first and add another 16gb of ram and the ssd from 512gb to make an equal comparison
i7 6700k and i7-5820k are 10-20 % higher than i7-4790k... then if you want to lima something you can ask to install gtx 960 but I remind you that in real use gtx 970 is about 63% faster (112gb/s vs 224 gb/s bandwidth, 1024 cuda cores vs 1664 cuda cores)http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/compare/nvidia-gtx-970-vs-nvidia-gtx-960/2577vs3165for the use to which are intended I see very indicated and the price close to what you indicated (1400-1700€)... then as I always do as good "commercial" bargain for a little discount...

as a video card, if you do not use render engine on gpu it is better a picture, the k2200 is a great choice, but k12000 (4gb)or the k620 with 2gb is powerful enough to manage millions of polygons and with the cad you have an excellent speed.
as cost estimate I pass you this:

with intel core i7-4790 ( 4 x 3.6 ghz / 8 threads / 8 mb cache )
mb intel sock 1150 - ddr3 € 1080,00 + VAT
with intel core i7-5820k( 6 x 3,3 ghz / 12 threads / 15 mb cache )
mb intel sock 2011 - ddr4 overclockable / multiplier unlocked € 1360,00 + VAT

Other components

32 gb ram ddr3 1600 / ddr4 2133
ssd 120 gb
hd from 1 tb s-ata-3 7200 rpm
nvidia picture k620 2gb 3d opengl
keyboard 105 ita + mouse otticoscroll
dual dvd master
10/100/1000 network

if you want a workstation for rendering contact me in private that I have some collaborations, but the price goes beyond 3000
. if you think you make only rendering better invest on so much processing speed as 2 xeon..
Hi.

How about this configuration to use revit?

pc assembled intel with processor i7 5820k esa core 3.3 ghz

- houses corsair with power supply itek energy 700w
- motherboard asrock v3 x99 extreme3
- cpu intel esa core i7 5820k 3.3 ghz 15mb (6 core)
- 16gb ddr4 memories (2133) quad channel
- 2tb serial ata3 hard disk
- ssd m.2 samsung 950 pro 256gb
- dvd-rw +/- 24x dual layer burner
- graphics card nvidia geforce gtx950 2gb
- audio card 7.1 hd ch audio (realtek alc1150 audio codec)
- integrated ethernet glan network card
- win 10 pro

we are on 1500€

the idea is then to upgrade ram and video card if necessary.

changes the power supply with a decent brand type corsair, xfx, seasonic, coolermaster.. .
to make gtx 950 is really limited.
if you can immediately take a ssd from 512gb.. if you install programs and various programs the space fills easily.
I don't see a sink for the cpu
