would you follow such a course?

Good morning, everyone.
I was beginning to take a look at the study plan of my next university year, which should (hopefully) be the last. you can choose various specialized paths, consisting of fixed examinations, characterizing the specialist that you choose, and others to choose, which are instead transversal between the various specialists. Regardless of the path that I have chosen, there is one that has aroused my attention. is a course of andvanced design that resumes and deepens themes of design of mechanical components already studied during the three-year period (e.g. on a component that I know that it is very heartfelt for many users of this forum: during the basic course of the three-year we give the notions to verify a geared to pitting, bending of the tooth and wear; in this advanced course also introduces micropitting. in the basic course are only cylindrical gears with straight and helical teeth; in the advanced course are also sizing the epicycloids.
the course is part of an international project and is held by a German professor, who is officially under contract with the university of monk and here I " lend" to hold this course. the problem is that being a course of choice of the second semester of the fifth year is attended by 15 people. given this situation the professor does not teach regularly but remains in germany. comes about 4-5 times in a semester, every time you have to introduce a new macro-topic, explains it (obviously in 2 hours not in depth), then assigns the material to study and exercises to carry on and tells its students that the next lesson will be held in 3-4 weeks. for any doubts during the study, reply by email.

the question is if you would feel that you would follow a course so, since the subject you like, well knowing that you will have to study it yourself??

n.b : I clearly have 10 other exams with which to replace it, some of which are equally interesting and kept in a traditional way.

I would try to get feedback from students who have already done this course.
we at most can tell you our opinions, but not what you really want to choose that course.

the course from a title that brings some advantage in the labor market? If yes, well come.
the having to study alone, if it interests to work in the technical field (any it is) will be a constant that stops being necessary only when you stop working

Since the topic is particular, already not being in Italian and not having regular lessons are a problem. knowing how to properly measure gears is not such an obvious thing. often in companies you still see lewiss, empirical coefficients, unit of measurement of pleistocene, reference values that do not center anything with sigma,fa or sigma,ha etc. no iso 6336, no specific pressure assessment, no profile correction, interassis with the three decimals with helidal wheels because you are not able to use the x factor....
However, these are things that you can learn by yourself with good dispensers and manuals.
If you have a course to choose as a substitute option to this I would do it.... seen how the world turns and how does not care what you did to companies.

hi, I say my.. I would try to attend some courses that, I complete it from a technical point of view, but that maybe give me some extra knowledge about topics that I have never dealt with... you will have a way to deal with those topics in the future if you are interested and if that will be your way (and maybe you will get more knowledge of what could give you a simple university exam). However, it is not always easy to deal with issues that diverge from your area of study... I give you an example of lived life. .the university chose to take a course in electric machines instead of one in machine constructions ii because the professor in question was very explanatory in explanations. ..without his teachings I would have had a lot of difficulty in understanding later some concepts on electric motors/drives, concepts that would later be very useful to me, while the themes of the other examination (constructions of machines ii) I would have been able to face them/to learn them without too much difficulty having done many more tests similar to that (the basic language always remains the same).
