Good morning to all kind designers!

a question about the sheet field, premitting that I almost never use it for which I am not experienced.
I had to make a pot that is obtained by funnel; I think I have understood, looking at past discussions, that there is no funnel function in sldw, you should buy an application.
Is that so? I attach the detail (which I have made with classical functions) to make you understand what I wanted to get.

It's not called fun, but it does the same thing...
with the shape you want.

thanks to the answer
I tried to look at what the guide says in the "training tools" section, but he talks about going to the project library and finding what I need. I honestly couldn't do anything, I don't understand what and where to look.
Also using the "forming instrument" function of solid I didn't get anything. I color faces, perhaps according to how it should deform, but I do not understand the criterion.

Could you give me a practical example of a funnel and attach it to me? Just one thing in the air. Consider that you're talking to a sheet metal bug, I never work there, so things that may seem to be discounted instead for me are total darkness.
However I allow myself to say that the guide of sldw is really hurt.. for one who starts from scratch on a topic comes out equally dismissed!

Thanks again

Sorry, I didn't see you attached this picture to me.
Could you attach the file to me, so I'll study the functions a little bit?

I use 2010... but cmnq, read well the guide (see link in my first post)
and follow in the letter the information contained therein, I learned so.
the guide of solidworks, is made quite well, provided
step by step all the info contained.
See, if you tell me you couldn't do anything, it means you didn't read.
well the first page of the link I posted to you.
In fact, there is the exact location of the training folder that in my case is in "c:\documents and settings\all users\dati application\solidworks\solidworks 2010\design library\forming tools".
yours, if I read your profile well, will be in the folder with solidworks 2009... and so on.

in any case, the procedure is pressapoco this:
prepare your sheet metal part that you will have to enter.
open the project library from the bread task, at the top you will find three icons, click on
add file location and navigate until the path described above.
After adding that path, on the new folder, do dx key and enable "training tools folder" (if not fuss).
inside the forming tools folder, there is an embosses call, here are the tools to put them you will have to save there.
Now you have to create your punch, open the file "circular emboss", save it as a copy by changing its name and use the one you just created to shape your punch that will shape the sheet.qui find the info to create from scratch a forming tool, for funnels, you just need to give it the break face, leaves the field empty
faces to be removed.
when you continue, once you open the file previously prepared, you can enter the new function simply by dragging it to the face of the sheet in question.
However, the guide is exhaustive, read the procedures several times and do not leave the tips that are added and sometimes fail to read.
I hope I understand, however, if you have any further doubts... knock strong... :finger:

What's missing and what's done by third-party software is the opposite process, the disimbutitura, that is to find the right development from a finished piece.
in this case, logopress or blankworks. logopress from the latest releases, it also implements progressive disimbutitures for casings.

Thanks, guys, I'm feeling a little calm.
The reason why I'm not so intuitive is because I'm used to working with the "normal" parts with functions and surfaces, so the fact of having to charge functions and create the punch is new to me, but now I will try.
to limit ribusso.. Thank you.

perfect, I understood the mechanism. you have to create a part with the classic functions that will make as a punch.
However I did not find the folder because the path still orientated me on the 2008 files.
Thank you very much, very helpful advice!

post me the result... If you go...

bye:

But at this point another question arises spontaneously. to put on, or whatever, just drag the punch that we want right over the face. but then what is the initial command "forming instrument"? trying I saw that even without using that command just drag the punch and automatically create the relative function

rereading my post... I do not see where I say I use the forming tool
to insert a sheet... .
the forming tool is used to create the punch.. .

Yes, it is.
I didn't know what it was for, since the punches could be created from the bookstore or anywhere.
Thanks

I don't understand; when I go inside the library there are parts designed if I drag them in it tells me if I want to create a derivative part..is it true?
check through the image I attach if you are in the same situation.
In my opinion, the red rectangle option is not active.

hello to all, there is somewhere a demonstration video on how to create a funnel on a sheet?

thank you very much

the guide of solidworks is very explicit on this topic.
also in this thread has been addressed the theme that allows you to try
without any other support.
guide

Sorry I learned today to create on sw2010 installed on windows7 of the forming tools but I have a small problem I do not find the forming tools folder i.e. I do not find the path and in the library I do not find them. Any suggestions? ?
