problem:
nx 7.5 requires the installation of new license server software.

installing the license file in a previous version of the license server will not function correctly.

you must install the ugs4 common license server (nx 7.5 license server) software.

is the version that sends information to siemens in the case of "edu" licenses?
I had relived a time ago an email that informed something like that.

No, ip, that's a nx-side mechanism.
Although licensed servers of 6 and 7 could manage even 7.5 there were cases where things are not going.
is then said to behave with 7.5 as with all other versions: also install license servers with the relative version.

In theory after the change of flexlm (i.e. after nx5, nx turning point) is not so automatic. . .
as soon as the first beta of nx8 comes out I try to leave that of 7.5
