ellipsoid creation but elliptical section. what command?

Hello, everyone.

so far I have always found the solution to my problems with the "search" button, but this time I haven't really succeeded, even because I don't even know what I command to use to do what I want!

practically I have to do an ellipsoid medium and so far there would be no problem, it would be enough to create a surface whose perimeter is formed by the two ellipse semi-axis and 1/4 of the ellipse perimeter itself. I then use the "revolution" command along a board. Unfortunately it is not so simple because this would generate a circular section ellipsoid, but I need this section to be "elliptic". . .
I mean, I think it's best that I'll get you an example file.

Can you explain how I can do this? I don't even know which command to use. I would say a "blend with sweep". I tried to do it but as you can see from the attached file something really undecipherable came out. I would always say that the problem could reside in the yellow arrows that appear or in the selection sequence of the two sections. . .

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi.

Maybe you wanted to make such a form?

Fabrious.
bye

First of all, thank you very much for the very good answer. when you know things...
Let's see if I get it. you x make that surface you created 1/4 of the surface of the ellipsoid and then you told him given the two branches of the other two ellipses as a guide, right?

Question 1: He created a superfice. Can you turn into solid?
question 2: In the tree of your file I see "group copiesd_group". Why didn't you use the mirror control to make the other 3 surfaces?

Thanks for the answers.

Attached what I managed to do...

I'm self-esteemed.
I realized how to solidify.
I first put a "tape" that closes everything, then I joined all 4 surfaces + the cap and then I "solidified".

perfect result!

(see Annex)

remains the doubt of why you wanted to copy and not mirror the surfaces.. .

Hi alessandro,

I'm glad you solved everything.
I mirrored the surfaces with the mirror control and used the various pre-existing reference planes as reference of the operation.

It's like you said:

create the sketch by paying attention to it closed
select the limit blend command and as first reference use 1/4 surface and then as second reference choose the other two curves, you will notice that in the preview you get out the required form.

When I made pet bottle molds, I used a similar command to make the bottle case... but it was a long time ago.

I greet you,

Fabrious.
