Hi.
I long ago at school drew a toothed wheel with evolving profile in sw following the following procedure:
- in excel I made a table that creates an evolving circumference point with a macro that copies all these values
- opening a new txt and pasting you get the file with the coordinates list
- in sw it is possible to draw its curve using the command insert-->curva through xyz points going to fish the txt you just created
- in solidworks a disc with a diameter equal to the outer diameter of the circumference
- from the evolved one builds the sketch of a quarry, (not a tooth) and then repeats itself with the circular command
