hello to all I am new to the forum.. and I just started using revitcon revit.. first of all compliments for this forum that is a real mine of information. I'd like to ask you a question. to do so I went to the editor of the families and did an extrusion on the path and the program did not give me mistakes, and so I see my beautiful frame.
problem 1 the frame intersects with the shields of the window which is not good for me, I would like to move forward the dark but I can not
problem two more severe mooolto when I load the family in the project the frame is not seen, if they select the window I see the lines of the frame but does not appear on the wall in any view and even in rendering. What's wrong? Do I have to set up some paramentro?

You mean family editor window, right...!

you have to change (short) the shields from the wall, but if the family is complex, the thing is difficult ... check the parameters of the shields, or see if they are blocked by some "lock", in case, open it, move the shields, and lock again. check in all the views of the family...

If the question is stupid... :

the problem may be if you have "disegned" the path of the frame, without "attaching" it to the outside face of the wall. in this case, the frame is "enlobed" in the wall, surely more thick in the project, than that host of the window family you are changing
if such is the problem, "lock" the path of the frame to the external face of the wall, (use a lock, or a quota =0) or, and is the best solution, draws the path of the cornices by "selection" of the window hole (i.e. the external profile)

Thank you so much! In the end I managed it as you did right now I have the problem to carry forward the doors when I try with the move command tells me "the constraints are not satisfied" if I agree to remove the constraints what happens? What other solution is there?

if you agree to remove the constraints, the parameters are disabled, or any "points" or blocked quotas are removed.
if the parameters are removed, the family is no longer "manageable" from the project

you should "study" the type of family bond and adapt it...

..this afternoon, now without hope, I made the new attempt but this time I managed!!! :smile: now also my windows have the famous white frame!
I simply managed to create the extrusion as I wanted! My problem was to determine the exact work plan on which to create the extrusion perimeter determined the frame!
