copy with basic point

I just co-minished to use vw and can't find a command that on autocad exists since the first versions: copy with base point.
what I want to do is to take an object, copy it, take on the object itself a reference point and paste it by giving it the anchor.
I don't know if I explained myself but if I have an ab segment with a distance of 10 from c, I want the copy ab to be 10 from d.
by making apple+m and apple+d below I have to give a value but what I want is to have a reference for moving (which dragging you do not have).

I don't know what version you have of vw but there is a moving tool (move by point) that does exactly what you say. is located in the standard tool blade (basic).
in any way you can give a shift value even when you move an object, activating with the tab button (if you have not activated it already) the floating window.

the version is 2009 but I do not find the command "muovi". What do you have? Maybe I have to customize to insert it?

In practice I want to copy the object by clicking as a reference an object that is not on the point and, above all, I want to paste giving as a reference a second point that, again, is not on the object.
e.g. having 2 equal rectangular squares I want to copy-paste a plant from first to second square using as reference the edge of the rectangle of the square... If you can? Thank you!

the command you look for is called move and duplicate and default is not active in the standard tool palette. you must insert it into your palette by the commands available in the schematic editor. I attach an image to you: on the left you have all the tools available to the right those you have available to work. you need to search the tool left and drag it right into the standard tool palette.

One thing: lory.b is very fortunate to have never used autocad. But I come from autocad and when I started making your own mistake, I thought I had to figure out how to do in vector the same things I did in autocad.

if you want to duplicate an object once from one point to one point do so: by activating the simple selection you approach to one point, when the bond to the point on active and the cursor becomes a cross. if you press alt a + appears. Now click hold and move to the other point. It's a lot simpler and no command needed.

if you need to make multiple copies you can use the tool that is activated by pressing the k button
