Hello everyone
we have just installed the pe2 software for creo elements...(ex modeling).
I have managed to solve these problems alone or with the telephone support of the technicians (so if someone has problems with these programs can contact me and we see to solve the problem).
the problem that remains to me is the management of "file versions". Can anyone clarify my ideas?? ? ...thank you

What kind of problem do you have?

However, for business use, I strongly recommend using the model manager with the bom editor module, which both require a license each.

Using model managers, many problems related to the management of pkg files are resolved transpirently to the user who no longer has to worry about where and how to save files.

the type of problem I have is to create not revisions...but versions of a particular....for example I have a pneumatic system with pn-000-000 code with all descriptions in Italian, I want to keep the same code but have all descriptions written in English, Spanish, French etc. a code with multiple versions in synthesis... as far as the bom editor module is already ok!... thank you

Sorry I misunderstood. When you wrote pe2 I thought you meant that you were testing with the personal edition to check whether to use it in the company. But now I realized that you use the pdm pe2 of cdm.

then when you save the documents you must insert them under the parent code (pn-000-000) instead of creating new ones.

When you do the search, under the code pn-000-000, you will get out the drawings and documents.

uhmm...no pierarg....so I only create a document or file where I can save all kinds of documents...from pictures to worksheets etc...
Maybe I found what I was looking for:
if in the 3d select the detail to save, dx key, pe2, a curtain appears in which there are the voices "save as file version" or "crea variant"....I think it is so also in annotation...I have to try.
cmq if you have pierarg problems, since you also use pe2, we can help us.. No problem. .
Thanks again.. .

uhhmm.. in these days I tried and tried to save a particular as a version...but I didn't get anything... maybe it's even better to create a file and save so..:-)
By the way....someone will participate in the presentation in the new program. I always create modeling... in verona on 24? ? . . .

Since we now have a section dedicated to creo direct, I moved the discussion here.
I ask you kindly to warn me if you notice any further discussions to move, thank you.

but are you talking about creo elements dircet pe or is there a version of creo direct "real"? otherwise you should write in the cocreate section.

spoke of pe2, the pdm of the cdm. actually the title of the discussion was quite misleading!

Hi.
also in my company we have installed pe2+creo-modeling; Now I have a problem of "management".
I have to find the best solution to link them to our pe2 so that they can encode the work they are doing. (in addition to uploading and downloading the models performed).
the possibilities offered to us are: remote connection or vpn network.
Any advice?? ? ?
Thank you.

This is what I use for standard mm, and that I have developed seen the incomparable cost of multisite lciency, I don't know if pe2 allows it:
http://www.cad3d.it/forum1/showthread.php?31432-howto-velocizzare-model-manager-su-linee-lenteotherwise I know that cdm has a distributed file system software (something like cocreate multisite but cheaper) that could do to your case.
