there was an article some time ago on the site of republic (if I find it the place) where they spoke that they are studying the joints of the felines precisely because even with jumps from very high points they manage to land and to dissipate the energy of the impact without getting hurt, as well as if they fall "rovesci" they manage in any way to straight landing. in fact many say that a cat is likely to get hurt more if it falls from a low point that is not high.

I did some tests on my cats and I have to say that the more you raise them the better falls well. have a speed to turn that is spectacular!

the one scattered on my belly when he was 4 weeks flew from the first floor because he was afraid of the vacuum and saw well to make wondercat from the terrace.... not even a scratch (apart from a left meeeoooooo when it landed) ahahahah
Now when it comes out on the terrace it looks like a marines in the mud... practically with the belly resting on the floor:biggrin:

the mustache (technically vibrisse) serve precisely this. They have the same width of the skull and are... forward. . .
if they pass the vibrisses, they pass the whole cat.
