Draftsight: in advance opening under forum (+ 2 questions)

Hello, I don't know how many of you really use to produce draftsight,
As far as I am concerned, (although it does not allow to charge lisp :frown.

for this I would propose the opening of a sub-under forum not to mix draftsight with swx, what do you say?

2 questions:

1) wanting to replace/publish the value of the quota and replace it with "?" how should I do? within ownership with double clik but then does not accept the "?" instead of the value...
2) Wanting to reduce the size of the white cursor square where should I go? I think I did that month ago but now I can't find the right way.. .

... ehhh, I don't know but maybe you join someone else and you can support it.
Can you believe that with ds I never have and say I ever draw anything?
I installed it for curiosity, but as 2d we have smartsketch 4, I don't feel the need.
It is also true that in 2d we do really little, we say that it is used in cases where a customer sends you a dwg or dxf (which is always in an incomprehensible scale, has open geometries, double lines etc.) where it is the fastest way.
When I start using a new program the first thing I do is to spray all the available options, then I start doing something and at every little hitch or problem I stop and try to learn how to manage that situation.
I have done so with solidworks, and I can assure you that in 1999 it did not have all the tools that can be arranged today... despite the criticism of who I know... :tongue:

apart from this I find ds quite good in general but not too efficient in others. for example I found myself very badly with quotation styles. in this I find autocad much more intuitive.

Huumm... Perhaps wrong approach, it is proof of your first post with those two questions that were not impossible to solve. . But it is my personal opinion.
For the record, I don't remember how 3d sketches were (I don't even know they were already there) but I can assure you that if you had used the sw at that time you would have risked going crazy: the extrusions and cuts extruded you had to do without preview... You know how to laugh. Moreover if in performing a "separavi" cut the piece erased it directly because the multibody did not exist. . .
I personally appreciate solidworks even though since 2012 I expected more improvement in what already existed (to say one often some views on the design disappear and I have to close and reopen the program) but still a good product.

I am also opposed to fragmentation, but in this case, just because draftsight with solidworks has nothing to do with it would be a proper separation.

going under solidworks would be perfect because draftsight approaches above all the solidworks user who would find support there.

the scarcity of draftsight messages according to me stems from the fact that draftsight does not find a precise location today, "other cad for mechanics" is too vague and personally, but I think anyone, is brought more to read and write in a specific forum more than in a generic.

I do not say to do something like catia v5 there, catia v5 up, catia v5 down, would really suffice a harmless subgroup :biggrin:

because if you do not select other default draftsight saves in dwg format 2010.
for this a previous version of autocad does not open it.
it does not depend on draftsight, it would have happened also with autocad 2010 and beyond.
try to save it in dwg 2007 or earlier and solve the problem or with edrawings.
to demonstrate the fact that selfdesk is not indispensable.
